Hobart

Fr. Michael (Orthodox)

Father Michael is a Hieromonk (Priest-monk) of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. He came to Tasmania from England in 1991 and was appointed as the Orthodox Chaplain to the University in 1998. His main office is in the Chaplaincy Centre and he is therefore on campus most days of the week.

Fr. Michael Tate (Catholic)

Father Tate is a priest of the Archdiocese of Hobart, formerly the Parish of Bridgewater, he has recently been assigned to Holy Spitit Parish in Sandy Bay and has taken on the duties of Catholic Chaplain to the University.

The Rev. David Jones (Presbyterian)

The Reverend David Jones is a Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Australia. He has his main office at Vision One Hundred, level 2, 148a Collins Street in the City. He runs a weekly prayer session for students and staff on campus and is available to meet people in the Chaplaincy Centre or his office by appointment. David came to Tasmania from London in 1993. He was previously Minister of Saint John's, Macquarie Street. He was appointed by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Tasmania as Chaplain to the University in 1993.

The Rev. Stephen Carnaby (Anglican)

The Reverend Stephen Carnaby was appointed by the Anglican Church as Chaplain to the University in 2002. He is a former UTas student (Economics/Politics 1992) and former staff member (Office for Research & CSIRO Forestry 1994-96). Stephen has his main office at BayWest Anglican Church in Grosvenor St, Sandy Bay (3 mins walk from the Uni).

Launceston

Fr. Barry Jefferies (Orthodox)

Father Barry is a Priest of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. He came to Tasmania from Melbourne in 1988. He formerly taught at the CAA College in Melbourne and the AM College in Launceston. He was appointed as Orthodox Chaplain to the Launceston campus in 2002. He is on campus at the Chaplaincy Centre most days of the week.

Sr. Elizabeth Vagg (Catholic)

Sister Elizabeth is on the staff of the AM College in Launceston. She is the Catholic representative on the Launceston Chaplaincy team and as such, is available for interview by staff and students at the Maritime College.

Burnie

The Rev. David Sterrey (Baptist)

Reverend David Sterrey is appointed by the Baptist church as Chaplain to the Burnie centre. Originally from Melbourne, he has been in Tasmania for nine years. He is the Minister of the Burnie Baptist church. Daivd is to be found on campus in the Retreat Room between 11:00am and 1:00pm on Thursdays.
