Brief
History
Our Club was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Hobart.
The Rotary International Charter was granted on the 2nd of January 1965 and
presented as the "Rotary Club of Hobart South"
at the inaugural meeting on the 20th of February 1965 at Wrest Point Hotel.
Membership at charter was 28. One of those charter members, Dick Crawford, is
still an active member of the club.
The club's current membership is 32 (28 males and 4 females).

Dine-With-The-Stars event raised $46,000. This year’s project was jointly organised with the Variety Club of Tasmania and the proceeds split between the two service organisations. Master of Ceremonies was “Today” host Steve Liebman. Rotarian Helen Holmes received the Order of Australia Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. Club meetings moved from the Asian Room (closed by Wrest Point) to ‘Pier One’ Sir Guy Green, Governor of Tasmania was the guest speaker at the World Understanding Night held on the 24th of February.
